Bella Erskine
Head Experience Designer
Our Head Experience Designer, Bella, a 4th generation Kenyan, spent much of her childhood split between the Kenyan coast and the shores of Lake Naivasha. From a young age Bella’s strong sentiment for her natural surroundings and all living creatures grew to an inevitable career in the travel industry and more specifically beach and bush safaris.
Managing some of Kenya’s top lodges, she later moved to operations working hard behind the scenes to ensure seamless operations in remote parts of East Africa and thereafter saw a temporary move to London to work in East African Product Management whilst undertaking an intensive sales and reservations course. Today she shares her 15 years of professional knowledge as Head Experience Designer for The East African Experience Co, specialising in curating an truky unique experiences with a key focus on sustainable luxury travel.
Alisa Karstad
Safari Guide
Alisa was born and raised on the Kenyan coast and is passionate about the people, wildlife and natural beauty of East Africa. She holds a First Class Honours degree from Trinity College, Dublin in Zoology as well as being a certified safari/ nature guide with the Field Guides Association of Southern Africa (the gold standard in the industry). She is also a qualified guide with the Kenya Professional Safari Guides Association.
Alisa lives in Nairobi and has 12 years experience working in the luxury safari camp industry. She is particularly involved in community and conservation work and is a great source of knowledge for any of our clients who are particularly interested in planning a safari that gives back to local communities and wildlife conservation organisations. She is also able to privately guide guests wishing to avail of this service.

Alec Barrett
Director
As Managing Director my primary role is to connect people with the best travel consultants in East Africa. I manage the strategic direction of the company, all things digital, commercial and administrative. I live in Dublin, Ireland and enjoy sport, live music and travel. I was fortunate enough to make some life long friends from Kenya in school in Ireland. It is through these friendships and my love of East Africa that the company has been formed.
